Tiaan Vogel was a member of the victorious non-wetsuit relay team "The Frostbites"! Welll done to him! I hope I haven't left anyone else out.

There is a new advert on the website which refers to the results of the Freedom Swim this past weekend. I left out Candice Murray who was a team member of the Hershel Shool wetsuit team which claimed 1st place in that category. Congrats to her too. Next year we should think of entering a few club teams.

Congratulations to Lisa Cowling and Rebecca Newson who finished 2nd and 3rd Women respectively in the Cadiz Freedom Swim from Robben Island to Big Bay on Sunday 2nd May. The swim was undertaken in water temperatures ranging from 10 to 14 'C. The swimmers are only allowed one normal costume, a cap and goggles in the individual swim. Wetsuits are only allowed in the relay categories.

 We have hit peak competition season and our nippers, lifeguards and masters are all preparing for SA champs coming up in March and April so this newsletter is all about competition!  In this edition we review the LWP senior champs this past weekend, preview the LWP nipper champs later this month and view the final LWP Senior team to compete at Inter-regionals.

Richard Alford will host an information meeting at the club at 17.00 on Friday 29th January 2010 where various aspects of the SA Nationals to be held at Blue Water Bay in Port Elizabth will be discussed.

The revised calendar of events for this season has been posted on the website under "Competitions".
